If you are Memphis native, or happen to be a resident for any extended period of time, you can\u2019t help but notice a lot of people talk shit about Memphis.\u00a0 It\u2019s true it has its fair share of problems, but overall it\u2019s a pretty cool place with a lot of potential.\u00a0 Luckily, people are continually trying to make it better.\u00a0 You can physically see the transformation from the new bike lanes being painted all around the city to the plans for Overton Square.\u00a0 We are a city on the move.\u00a0 Everytime I get back from an extended trip out of town I\u2019 m shocked by the changes that greet me when I return.<\/p>\n
I was reflecting on how much Memphis has to offer this weekend after taking in the River Arts Fest, Farmer\u2019s Market, and Avenue Q at Circuit Playhouse.\u00a0 As I wandered down South Main with a new friend who just moved here, I got the feeling that I so often yearn for\u2026contentment.\u00a0 I paused and thought \u201cThere is nowhere else on earth I\u2019d rather be right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Memphis has been good to me both personally and professionally.\u00a0 It\u2019s where I\u2019ve met my closest friends and started my first full-time job.\u00a0 We are not destined to be together forever, but while I\u2019m here I will invest as much as possible and explore all I can.\u00a0 The opportunities to volunteer, give, create, and grow are waiting.\u00a0 You just have to stop complaining and start doing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
